Shining Light to Seniors

Shining Light Training Seminars are designed to do three things:

  • Raise up new workers and send them out prepared
  • Expand the ministry possibilities of current workers
  • Increase involvement of pastors/teachers (once a month)
  • Emphasize and teach one-on-one evangelism and encouragement

Seminars are most often held on Saturday mornings from 9:00 to 11:30 or on Sunday afternoons,
and take place either at a church or at a nursing or retirement home in a central location.
Sometimes, attendees experience an opportunity for valuable hands-on training during
an hour-long nursing home visit. The cost per person is $10.00.

Valuable printed materials and a "continental breakfast" are included.

Feedback from these training sessions has been extremely positive. Men and women who attend
and have never (or rarely) entered the doors of a nursing home have told us that they left,
not only well-trained, but also enthusiastic about starting. The veterans thanked us for the emphasis on establishing close relationships and on personal evangelism and for the tools to make that happen.

Statistics show that not many people are reached for Christ after age 60. Yet, it is the experience
of Shining Light that a faithful ministry in a nursing home results in a great harvest of souls!
One person, at least, per facility...making a commitment to it as their own personal missionfield...
can reap a great harvest
.

The old song says, "Let none hear you idly saying, 'There is nothing I can do.'" This...you can do.
