“He who has the Son has
life;
he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” - I John 5:13
That is the crux of the matter.
There are only two
places a person can be standing: Saved or unsaved. There are only two places
a
person can go at death: Heaven or hell.
I guess if we never stop
to think about those truths, there is nothing to urge us into soul winning.
I
guess we just live the day-by-day life, best we can, and hope for a good
outcome for the people
on our pathway.
Here’s the crux of the
matter: We should shudder at the truth that people who do not have
a personal
relationship with Jesus Christ will step off a cliff into the darkness of hell
when they breathe
their last breath. On the other hand, we should rejoice to
know that we have had a part in leading a person
to know Christ as Savior so
that he or she need not ever be afraid to rest their head on their pillow at
night…
they will not perish but have everlasting life.
In this ministry, we
come face to face with elderly people, one after the other, and the task is for
us
to do all we can, with the knowledge we have, to explain the way of
salvation to them! Every person
that comes under our care should have the
opportunity to hear the serious truths of the gospel and be able
to make a
decision about faith in Christ. Sooner than later. Today rather than next week.
In the senior-care
arena, there is a strong possibility that we may not get a
second chance.
