PRAY FOR CONNIE
Tonight at Heritage Woods in Rockford (HWR), one of the ladies saved four years ago told me that her daughter Connie is not saved and that she doesn't want to hear anything about the Lord. Lucille is concerned for her. I told her we'd pray!

PRAY FOR TWO NEW PEOPLE AT MORNINGSTAR VILLAGE
Morningstar actually called this morning and said that I was on the schedule. I was glad to hear from them but it is not really acceptable for me not to have a more firm schedule.

Anyway, pray for Vince (Lutheran) who eyed me rather dubiously as I shared the gospel and assurance of salvation. Read the I John verses in the back of the songbook so he could see them for himself.

Pray for Joyce, also new today. Listened INTENTLY and was pleasant in her reactions.

PRAYER REQUEST FROM A SHINING LIGHT BOARD MEMBER

I am pasting a prayer request from J.P. Zinn, a board member of SL2S. He has has shown whole-hearted interest in the ministry and is a faithful financial and prayer supporter. J.P. is a longtime friend; he and his family live in Georgia.

"I have a prayer request to share with you.  I found out about 3 weeks ago that they will not be renewing my contract due to enrollment and budget issues.  They don’t really have a solution to teach my classes so they may change their minds but it will be the Lord changing their minds if that is to happen.  I have been trying to get a full-time job at the college where I have been teaching for 5 years.  That would be ideal but the Lord will have to work that out as well.  Maybe he has something else entirely in mind but I’m certainly not in a position to not have a job come August...."

Please support him in prayer. Thanks!

PRAY FOR A RESIDENT...DR. JOHN
Dr. John has been an obstetrician at Rockford Memorial for 40 years. He is now at Heritage Woods in Rockford.

John came two meetings ago but did not come to last meeting. Tonight he was there, sitting at a front table, whereas last time, he sat far back. I discern that he is not saved. He sings the songs; he does not look up when I am talking; he reads with us when we read Scripture from the back of the songbook. He was invited the first time by Lucille who is quite a missionary! (As a result of trying to help her find her wallet four years ago, she prayed with me in her room to put her trust in Christ. Now she befriends all the new people and asks them to the meeting.)

He was very friendly to everyone tonight and asked when I was coming back. Telling you what I think, I think he is listening and interested, but there is pride standing in the way. Please pray for his salvation. I will drop him a note and send something for him to read. The doctor came again tonight (Thursday the 16th). I was very surprised and pleased. He sat up close again and seems to hit it off with Nida from my church. However, I see him grimace uncomfortably when I mention hell. I don't mention it often, but when I noticed that, I did zero in on the words of Jesus about the resurrection...some to eternal life and some to eternal damnation. He sings. He doesn't look up much, but I think he is listening. I hope that he prayed a prayer of faith silently tonight. I'm so glad he came again!

PRAY FOR A RESIDENT...LIZ
Tonight, I was able to speak in depth with her. She is Catholic. I would say that she has a deep desire to know God. She told me tonight that she believes in Christ as Savior and that He is the only way, but she had no assurance of salvation or eternal life. She is not "lovely" in the world's eyes and is shunned by others. I held her hands and prayed for her. I am going to write a letter to her and send a simple tract. Please pray for this lovely woman.
Liz was there again. She listens INTENTLY. She was right up front tonight. She loves the love she is receiving.
June 5, 2015 update...Liz will undergo surgery for uterine cancer on Monday up at Madison. At that time, she will know the extent. She came in late tonight because she went to confession. When she came in, a couple of the women started whispering and looking at her. I was sad. Liz is just a blip on the screen, so to speak. Two weeks ago, I chatted with her for a few minutes about this and that, and when I asked her how she liked it at Heritage Woods, she said, "Oh, it's nice.  I'm just lonely. I just sit in my room all the time." I decided right then and there that I needed to take time with her and she and I chatted together for almost an hour. My heart goes out to her. Please pray that she will be truly saved and about her operation on Monday.

PRAY FOR A RESIDENT...JACK
Jack is at Grand Victorian. He comes to every meeting but I have no reason to believe that he knows the Lord. Through the years I have discovered that some men
come because I am nice to them. Jack shakes worse than I do and for that reason I have reached out to him with kindness. Now, I'm not sure about that, but it's a thought. Another man who comes who is 95 told me that he tried years ago to talk to Jack about God at work and that he wanted nothing to do with it. However, the message that I bring is one of assurance and hope and eternal life. You know what I mean. Each time I go I am bent on getting him aside and getting a little insight to what is his situation, but lunch is served right after the meeting and he leaves quickly. (The 101 year old lady, Allie, who was saved after one of our meetings is friends with him.) So, anyway, please pray for him and for me to have a chance to talk with him.

PRAY FOR A RESIDENT...ALLIE - Speaking of Allie
...
I talked to her last time I was there and I need to spend time with her, helping her to grow. Pray for me to be able to do that or pray that another godly woman will come on board to mentor her.

PRAY ABOUT A SITUATION...MORNINGSTAR VILLAGE
Little by little, Shining Light has been dropped from the schedule at this place, and I think it has to do with the activities director's own personal beliefs. Not sure. Last time I talked to her she said she'd email me and we'd get back on track, but I have not heard from her. The people there...maybe about 10...really like when I come. I am always listening anad watching for God's leading in these things. Pray that we get back on track for two meetings a month. MORNININGSTAR CALLED ME THIS MORNING TO TELL ME I WAS ON THE SCHEDULE FOR TODAY. I WAS GLAD, BUT WORK STILL NEEDS TO BE DONE TO PUT THE MEETINGS ON A REGULAR SCHEDULE.
ONE OF THE LADIES WAS RATHER PUT OUT WITH ME FOR NOT BEING AT THE LAST MEETING. I DID NOT FEEL THAT I SHOULD DIVULGE THE FACT THAT IT WAS THE FAULT OF THE ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR. I HAVE NICELY "PUT MY FOOT DOWN" REGARDING SET DATES (1ST AND 3RD THURSDAY). THE FOLK LOVE THE MEETINGS. PRAY FOR THE A.D. SHE IS THE ONE WHO SAID SHE IS REALLY TOUCHED BY THE BIBLE LESSON WHENEVER SHE WALKS THROUGH.

PRAY FOR ME
I am asking for your prayers in regard to the trouble I have sleeping. I have lived with it since 1979ish and it is pretty much a way of life by now. I did the sleep clinic thing and the conclusion was "minimal apnea and minimal restless legs." It definitely runs in my family, including Mom and Dad. So, I ask for your prayers as my dear friends and brothers and sisters in the Lord. I was happy to memorize the last verse in Colossians 1! "For this I toil, struggling with all HIS energy that He powerfully works within me!" This must be true for me, too. When I get to the homes, I am filled with enthusiasm and strength! Nevertheless, I do request prayer for my health.
